The New Spritz on the Block
I shall remember this summer as the season of lazy, carefree evenings in our terrace, enjoying a couple of glasses of very cold Spritz.
A few years ago, my Roman friends introduced me to Spritz, a blend of Aperol, Prosecco and soda water. I loved it immediately. But this Summer I wanted to try something different, especially because I love Rosé wine in Summer and Prosecco is not always easy to find and can be a bit pricey. Hello Rosé Aperol Spritz.
Just replace the 3 parts Prosecco with Rosé wine or Brut Rosé and if you want to be a bit adventurous, add a splash of passion fruit juice and a squeeze of lime, to balance the bitterness of the Aperol and to add tartness.
Here’s an easy recipe to make at home.
3 parts sparkling rosé or just regular rosé
2 parts Aperol
1 splash soda
Top with Ice and a slice of orange, pink grapefruit, or orange peel for garnish.
