It’s World Food Day – Do Something That Matters

A few days ago I realised that there’s such a thing as World Food Day. It’s the anniversary since the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations was founded, in 1945. The day is celebrated by raising concerns about food security.

I am sure that most of us don’t need a day like this to think about food. Our thoughts are often centred around what we’ll eat that day. Let’s remind ourselves that someone else may be wondering how they will eat that day. While most of us take having at least 3 meals a day for granted, others may not event get one today. And I know that these situations exists because I’ve met these people myself.

I am involved in a local organisation called Sponsor My Future, which is founded on the primary function of raising money to educate children in Kenya. However, we also finance a feeding programme which feeds hundreds of poor and often homeless people every single day.

So, today I kindly ask you to think about our angels in Kenya and offer a little donation to make sure that they do get a meal tomorrow. You may send an email to sponsormyfuture.kenya@gmail.com or contact their Facebook page.
