500gr Shortcrust pastry
1kg Minced beef
100gr Mature Cheddar Shredded
1/2 cup Hellmann's mayonnaise
Shortcrust pastry
1 Onions finely diced
1/2 cup Milk (whole)
2 Eggs
Cornstarch
1/2 cup Peas

Creamy Meat Pie (Torta tal-laħam)

Cheesy, creamy, top-less meat pie!

Preheat the oven to 200°C. I begin by making the dough. You can use my recipe here.

Then, I dice the onion and sauté in olive oil, together with the minced beef over medium heat until browned.

Roll the dough on a floured surface, removing any access flour. Lay over the dish and bake in the oven for 15 minutes until slightly browned.

In a bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs, milk, Hellmann’s Mayonnaise and cornstarch.

Season the meat with salt and pepper and remove the pan from the heat. Mix in the mayonnaise creamy mixture, the shredded cheddar and the peas.

Bake in the oven for about 40 minutes.
