I was spring-cleaning my kitchen recently and when I opened the spices and cubes drawer in my pantry, I was shocked to find that I had so many products that were nearing their expiry. I absolutely hate waste, especially food waste, so I decided to get creative and find alternative ways of using products, such as flavouring cubes, that I usually use only in winter. I came up with this delicious BBQ rub for a nice piece of rib-eye steak. It goes really well on the BBQ as it brings out that smokey and sweet flavour.

Steps

1
Done

As you can imagine, this really is a no-brainer. Start by mixing well the ingredients together using a small whisk.

2
Done

Using a culinary brush, pat the mixture generously into both sides of the steak. It would be best to let the meat absorb the marinade for at least 30 minutes in the fridge. Alas, it can go straight to the grill, 3 minutes on each side for a medium to rare steak.
